Mansfield Water Testing for Leaks

Mansfield will be testing for leaks in residential properties.

During the next two week period Water Division crews will be testing residential water services  over 200 feet in length only in order to complete the  final phase of the 2012 Annual Leak Detection Program.   Home owners of these properties (over 200 feet water services) received individual hand notices from the Water Division with regarding upcoming work. This work will be performed from Dec. 5 to Dec. 7 and from Dec. 10 to Dec. 14 from 12 a.m. - 6 a.m. (weather permitting).      Work  will only take place nearer to the street and only up to where the water shutoff is located at each property line (typically this is located 10-15 feet from the side of the road).   Crews should be at each property no longer than 1/2 hour and water service …

Mansfield Water Flushing

Annual water flushing may mean discolored water.

According the Mansfield town Web site, annual water system flushing is currently in progress.  Over the next six to eight week period, crews from the Mansfield Water Division will be flushing hydrants in various street areas throughout the town beginning in West Mansfield.  Flushing takes place weeknights between the hours of 12 p.m. and 6 a.m. (weather permitting).  Motorists are asked to watch for workers in or near the roadway, and to please drive with caution.   Water customers may (or may not) experience discolored water as a result of this activity.  Should this occur, run faucets, tub, spigots, etc. until water color clears.  As a precaution to protect laundry, check water in clothes washers and make sure the water color is clear …

Emergency Leak Repair Forces Water Shutdown on Timberline Drive in Mansfield

Leak repair may cause shutdown of services and discolored water.

The Mansfield Water Department was forced to shut off a water main on Timberline Drive in Mansfield in order to repair a critical leak in the area. Customers on or near this street may see discolored water because of this. If this does occur, custumors should run the faucet until the water becomes clear, and before running laundry, make sure the water is not discolored.  For questions, contact the Mansfield Water Department office at (508) 261-7376
