4th Congressional District GOP Candidate Sean Bielat Votes in Norfolk

The GOP candidate for Congress voted at the Freeman-Kennedy School in Norfolk this morning along with his wife Hope.

For the first time in almost 30 years, the winner of tonight’s 4th Congressional Election will not be Barney Frank but rather a new member of Congress. With Frank retiring when his term ends in January, either Democrat Joe Kennedy or Republican Sean Bielat will succeed Frank as the district’s congressman. At a little after 10 a.m., Bielat, along with his wife, Hope, and two young children, Theo and Seraphina, stopped at the Freedman-Kennedy School in Norfolk to cast their ballots for the general election. For Bielat, this is his second attempt at running for Congress, losing to Frank in the 2010 election. “I think I made the right choices in the voting booth. Timilty Leaning Toward Voting Against Cell Phone Driving Ban

Fourth District state senator spoke in Sharon today.

State Sen. James Timilty is leaning toward voting against prohibiting cell phone use while driving. Timilty (D-Walpole) told the Sharon Adult Center and Council on Aging Over 60 Men's Club today that such a ban could "lead to some infringement on my personal rights." "Driving isn't a right. It's a privilege," said Timilty, whose Senate district includes: Mansfield, Attleboro's ward 3, precinct B, ward 4, precincts A and B, ward 5, precincts A and B, ward 6, precincts A and B; Norton; Rehoboth; Seekonk; and Dover; Foxborough; Medfield; Sharon, precincts 1, 4 and 5; and Walpole. Listening to books-on-tape, or even tuning a car radio, doesn't even come close to raising the level of driver-distraction that a cell phone conversation does.
