Local Talent Fuels Bridgewater State Football Squad

Former Mansfield High football players are on the Bridgewater State University football team.

UPDATED: Bridgewater State lost to Widener, 44-14, Saturday to finish the season with a 9-2 record. For the first time since the 2000 season, the Bridgewater State football will be playing in the NCAA Division 3 tournament. The Bears earned an at-large spot after finishing with 9-1 record and will be playing Widener University, Saturday at noon in Chester, PA. Stoughton's Matt Green, a junior wide-receiver, is having a big year with 26 catches for 434-yards and six touchdowns. He has carried the ball 14 times for 112 yards and a touchdown and has four tackles. King Philip's Matt Monahan is a senior captain at wide-receiver with 18 catches for 227-yards and two touchdowns.
