Brigham and Women's/Mass General Health Care Center to host blood drive at Patriot Place on April 25th.
The Brigham and Women’s/Mass General Health Care Center at Patriot Place will host a blood drive on Thursday, April 25 from 9:30 a.m to 3 p.m. on the Patriot Place concourse next to the Brigham and Women’s/Mass General Health Care Center. Blood donations will be taken inside the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham and Women’s Hospital Blood Mobile near Gillette Stadium’s Bank of America gate. All who are planning to donate on April 25 are encouraged to schedule their blood donation appointment for that day. Walk-ins are taken as time allows. The Nightclub & Bar Media Group, a leading provider of information and resource for bars, nightclubs and lounges, has named CBS Scene Restaurant & Bar at Patriot Place its “2013 Sports Bar of the Year.” The 2013 Nightclub & Bar Awards were announced in February. Three California women are accusing the neighborhood grocery chain of falsely claiming that several of its products contain no artificial flavors, ingredients or preservatives.
Trader Joe’s, the neighborhood grocery chain with a location at Patriot Place, is facing a class-action lawsuit accusing the company of intentionally mislabeling several of its branded packaged foods to make them seem healthier than they are, according to The Huffington Post. California residents Amy Gitson, Christine Vodicka and Deborah Ross are each plaintiffs in the lawsuit against Trader Joe’s. The plaintiffs, according to The Huffington Post, are suing Trader Joe’s because the “evaporated cane juice” and “organic evaporated cane juice” listed as ingredients in Trader Joe’s brand yogurt and soymilk turned out to be normal sugar. “The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has banned the term ‘evaporated cane juice’ as a synonym for sugar on…

Winter Skate at Patriot Place presented by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, a popular outdoor ice skating venue in Foxborough, will host a figure skating spectacular on Sunday, March 3 at 6 p.m.with proceeds benefiting the Hockomock Area YMCA's "Reach Out for Youth" initiative. “Finale on Ice” will mark the end of the 2013 skating season at Winter Skate. The event will feature 25 performances by 38 local competitive figure skaters, all with ties to the New England area. Winter Skate at Patriot Place presented by Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare will raise funds for local groups on individual “Town Nights” over the next month. Residents of Walpole, Mansfield, Plainville, Wrentham and Foxborough can donate $2 from their Winter Skate admission to select groups by showing proof of residency during their Town Night. Mansfield's night will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30 to benifit the Mansfield Elementary Schools Association and the Qualters Middle School PAC. Saga Hibachi Steakhouse & Sushi Bar plans to open in Foxborough this summer after its application and licenses were approved Tuesday by the Board of Selectmen.
Patriot Place continued its recent boom in business by adding a high-end Japanese hibachi steakhouse to its restaurant mix. Saga Hibachi Steakhouse & Sushi Bar is coming to Foxborough, expected to open this summer after the town’s Board of Selectmen unanimously approved all licenses and applications at Tuesday’s meeting. "We're incredibly excited to add Saga and the exciting atmosphere that a high-end, hibachi-style restaurant brings," said Patriot Place General Manager Brian Earley.
