Gillette Stadium to Leave Empty Seat for POW/MIA
Rolling Thunder will participate in seat dedication, the first in a major professional sports venue
Since World War I, more than 92,000 American soldiers remain unaccounted for and the New England Patriots and New England Revolution will pay tribute to those POW/MIA soldiers with a special ceremony and dedication this Friday. Friday's ceremony at Gillette Stadium will mark the first time in the history of professional sports a team will leave a seat permanently unoccupied in recognition of the many soldiers who are POW/MIA. A black seat above the stadium’s south end zone will remain permanently empty and marked by a plaque recognizing the sacrifice of the POW/MIA. This is a great thing that is being done to honor our POW/MIA's. One can only hope that people will respect what this empty seat stands for and respect it. Also let's hope that all of the other "professional teams" will follow suit. more ›
