Norton: Driver in Route 123 Accident Pronounced Dead William Lozeau, of Norton, was pronounced dead at Sturdy Memorial Hospital Tuesday following an accident on Route 123. The 50-year-old W. Main Street resident hit a town plow truck head on near St. Mary's Church. The driver of the plow, Rhode Island resident George Guptill, was travelling in the eastbound lane when Lozeau came from the opposite direction into that lane. The accident caused the road to be closed for an hour and a half. The cause of the collision is under investigation. To read more click here. Mansfield's Robinson Principal Kristenson Announces Retirement Mansfield School superintendent Brenda Hodges and the entire School Committee said a heartfelt goodbye to retiring Robinson principal Kate Kristenson. “It has been a privilege to work with professionals at both schools,” she said. “I would to send a special thank you to the parents for your support and trust.” Kristenson has been working for the Mansfield school system for more than 35 years. She started her career in 1976 in a variety of different roles. Mansfield Family Receives National Attention After Photo Goes Viral When the children of Mansfield resident Ryan Cordell asked if they could get a new puppy on the condition that a picture of them on Facebook asking for one got a million likes, he didn’t expect that it would only take 13 hours to reach that goal. The photo, which says “Hi world, we want a puppy! Our dad said we could get one of we get 1 million likes!” has been liked almost 1.7 million times on Facebook as of the evening of January 18. Stoughton: Four Arrested After Brawl Breaks Out at Stoughton Baby Shower A baby shower at Club Luis de Camoes on Porter Street in Stoughton the evening of Saturday, Jan. 12 turned into a full-fledged brawl that took 20 police officers nearly an hour to quell. Four from Brockton ended up getting arrested, including one juvenile. Nearly 200 people, including children, were at the baby shower, which started at 9 p.m. A fight, which quickly escalated, broke out a little after 11:30 p.m. Stoughton Police responded, but needed assistance from three other local police departments as well as the State Police and Norfolk County Sheriff's Office to quell the brawl. Patriot Place Adds High-End Japanese Hibachi Steakhouse to Restaurant Mix Patriot Place continued its recent boom in business by adding a high-end Japanese hibachi steakhouse to its restaurant mix. Saga Hibachi Steakhouse & Sushi Bar is coming to Foxborough, expected to open this summer after the town’s Board of Selectmen unanimously approved all licenses and applications at Tuesday’s meeting. The restaurant will be located at 295 Patriot Pl., next to Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill, across from Red Robin and near the Renaissance Hotel. Suspect Charged in Armed Robbery at Norwood Convenient Store Norwood Police have arrested a suspect in the armed robbery that took place in Norwood Center last Thursday. King Philip Fundraiser Sticks Principal to the Wall When King Philip High School student Megan Conner discovered a school fundraiser where a teacher was taped to a wall, she knew she had to bring the idea to KP. The fundraiser, called ‘”Stuck for a Buck,” had students tape King Philip Principal Lisa Oliveira to the wall of the KP cafeteria during the four lunch periods.
