Fourth Congressional District candidate Sean Bielat answered reader questions earlier today in a live chat here on Mansfield Patch. Bielat, a Republican, is facing Democrat Joe Kennedy III to fill the seat of retiring Congressman Barney Frank, of Newton. Kennedy will participate in a similar live chat Q&A tomorrow, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. Questions submitted will be subject to moderator approval. No vulgar or libelous comments will be allowed. In their second debate Wednesday, Fourth Congressional District candidates Sean Bielat and Joe Kennedy III took center stage in front of a packed room at UMass Dartmouth’s Advanced Technology and Manufacturing Center in Fall River to discuss the "American Dream." Bielat (R-Norfolk) and Kennedy (D-Brookline) sparred on issues related to the "American Dream," including jobs, the economy, education and health care. One more television debate has been added to the schedule for the Mass. Fourth District race. Boston.com reports that Joseph Kennedy III has agreed to meet his opponent Sean Bielat one more time. The debate will be Oct. 24, on Fox 25. After congressional candidate Kennedy agreed to debate his opponent Sean Bielat three times before the election, Bielat reported he was disappointed by the number of debates. Democratic congressional candidate Joe Kennedy III celebrates his 32nd birthday in Attleboro speaking about support for military veterans.
Republican congressional candidate Sean Bielat has military experience, but the son of U.S. Vice President Joe Biden told an audience in South Attleboro on Thursday that Bielat's Democratic opponent Joe Kennedy III was the best person to represent veterans in Washington. After spending the day in New Hampshire campaiging for his father and President Barack Obama, Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden came to the American Legion Post 312 in South Attleboro for the nighttime event called "Veterans for Joe Kennedy." Frank reportedly signed with a talent agency, according to a blog on The Hill.
Democratic U.S. Rep. Barney Frank's life after Congress will not include two things: paid lobbying or work as a lawyer. Instead, Frank plans to teach, write a book, give speeches and work as a political commentator, according to a report in the Boston Herald. The Newton congressman clarified his plans in a statement Wednesday after receiving questions about his future after Congress. According to a blog post on The Hill, Frank has also signed with a talent agency. Frank closed his statement Wednesday by directing any questions to William Morris Endeavors, a talent and literacy agency run by Ari Emanuel, brother of Chicago Mayor and former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. In their first general election debate appearance, Fourth Congressional District candidates Sean Bielat and Joe Kennedy III went head-to-head last night on topics including policy, job creation and social security. Bielat, a Republican, also focused on his opponent's resume.
