Photos: Downtown Mansfield After the Storm

A look at the downtown area of Mansfield after the blizzard.

With few cars on the road, the downtown area of Mansfield was quiet in the early moments after the statewide traffic ban was lifted. While the roads were rough but manageable, some businesses were already getting to work clearing the sidewalks in front of their stores and workers at the commuter rail stop were clearing off the platform as the MBTA works towards their goal of restoring service by Monday. Above is a gallery of photos taken between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Feburary 9.

Maybe because we have to pay teachers/administrators so much, there's less funds for snow removal.   more ›

You Tell Us, Glad It's Warm or Hoping For Snow?

You tell us, are you soaking in these spring-like temperatures or hoping to see snow in the forecast?

Let's face it - it's been a few years since a snowstorm has truly walloped the area, despite several inches in a recent storm.  On top of that, the National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect high temperatures to stay in the mid-40s for the rest of the week and the New England Patriots may end up playing their rematch with the Houston Texans in sunny, 50-degree weather. So, we have to ask: Have you been loving this break from typical New England winter weather or are you in serious need of snowfall? Let us know in the comments section below.

How Much Snow Will Mansfield Get on Saturday?

A second storm is headed to the area and could make driving hazardous on Saturday.

A second storm of the week is headed toward New England and will dump more snow onto the area on Saturday. 7News meteorologists are predicting Mansfield to get between 4 to 6 inches of snow in the storm that is expected to start on Saturday afternoon and spread into the early hours of Sunday. The good news is that snow removal shouldn’t be a backbreaking endeavour. CBSBoston’s Todd Gutner said the snow will be “dry and fluffy for most,” though he warned that driving could be hazardous at times on Saturday.
