Enjoy the big game with big flavor.
I know you're upset the Patriots aren't playing in the Super Bowl, but stop claiming you're going to skip the big game. You have to watch, or you aren't an American. Besides, now that your team isn't playing, you can relax and enjoy the party without having to worry about every play. Your blood pressure will rise because of all the snacks, not because of iffy calls by the refs. The best features of the Super Bowl, in order, are watching the commercials, eating party food, hanging out with friends (just don't talk while the commercials are playing), making ridiculous bets and actually watching the game. Unlike other media members, I'm not going to spoil the commercials for you, it's too late in the week for me to find you friends and I am …
A Ravens cheerleader has been making headlines for the reasons she says she was banned from cheering on Super Bowl Sunday.
The story of a Baltimore Ravens cheerleader who said she was disciplined for weight gain—and believes this is a reason she was left behind from the Super Bowl—has been making headlines across the country. Cheerleader Courtney Lenz said she thinks her team didn't take her to the Super Bowl was because she gained 1.6 pounds. Admittedly, her story has changed through the week: Yahoo Sports noted she first said the team was upset because she had chosen to retire at the end of the season. She later told Good Morning America she thought the decision was because of her weigh-in. The alleged snub led to supporters starting an online petition to reinstate her, The Huffington Post reported. The team has said they picked cheerleaders for the Super …

The star quarterback thanked season ticket holders for their support through a recorded phone message this week.
While many Patriots fans are spending Super Bowl week disappointed the team won’t be taking the field Sunday in New Orleans, some are in higher spirits after receiving an unexpected message from the face of the franchise. Season ticket holders were surprised this week with a recorded phone message from Patriots quarterback Tom Brady thanking them for their support this season. Here’s the transcript of Brady’s message to the team’s season ticket holders: "Hi, this is Tom Brady calling. On behalf of the entire Patriots organization, I want to thank you for the tremendous support you showed our team this past season. Your enthusiasm and passion in the stadium really motivated me and the team on game day. Thanks for being our 12th man on the …

Patch editors weigh in on Sunday’s big game.
Patriots or Giants … who are you taking? Super Bowl XLVI is almost here. Enough of the hype, trash talk and analysis – we’re ready for some football. On the eve of Super Sunday, several Patch editors took the time to answer the most asked question over the past two weeks – who will win Super Bowl XLVI? Here are their answers: Courtney Jansson, Foxborough Patch Editor: I feel this is going to be a close game. Both teams are extremely talented, however in the end, the Patriots will have more drive to pull this out! – Patriots 28, Giants 21 Michael Hardman, Boston Patch Regional Editor: Giants score on five field goals while the Pats find the endzone on two Rob Gronkowski scores. I can't lose. The Pats are my AFC team and the Giants my NFC …

The columnist seems to be in a bit of a jam this week. Let’s see what it’s all about.
"One of the dangers of Facebook--really, the entire Internet--is that it enables people to post quotes and falsely attribute them to the wrong people." -- Abraham Lincoln I don’t remember where I found this quote or misquote, as the case may be, but I do remember I laughed out loud when I read it. I’m laughing right now. Oh, and just so you’ll know; this bogus quote has absolutely nothing to do with what I’m writing about today – at least I don’t think it does. Confused? Me too, but let’s not let a little confusion on my part, or yours, put the brakes on the creative process, which I’m hoping will kick in at any moment. So now I have a dilemma, though in my estimation dilemmas are highly overrated. They’re no big deal. Everyone has one …

Former New England Patriot Joe Andruzzi reflected on Super Bowl Sunday, his career, his battle with non-Hodgkin's Burkitt's lymphoma, and his charitable foundation.
About 60 fans hungry for another New England Patriots Super Bowl title learned over breakfast today about another Super Bowl-hungry bunch. Former Patriots offensive guard and Mansfield resident Joe Andruzzi said during the Temple Sinai of Sharon Brotherhood's 7th Annual Sports Breakfast that the current roster reminds him of the 2001 team, which began New England's streak of three Super Bowl champions in four years. "Our '01 team, there's a reason why we came out as a team that year: because we were a bunch of nobodies," Andruzzi said one week before the Patriots face the New York Giants in the Super Bowl, in Indianapolis. "Nobody knew Tom Brady. Nobody knew anybody on that team. They knew a few guys, the first rounders, Willie McGinest, …
