GATRA Service to Expand

The transportation service is looking at adding a stop at Mansfield Crossing.

Administrator at GATRA Francis Gay told Norton board of selectmen of current plans to expand service in Mansfield and Norton. According to Gay, GATRA has been working with the town of Mansfield and Wheaton College to expand service along Route 140 between the two areas. “We’re looking to expand that service to Mansfield Crossing,” Gay said. “We’re working with the town and the college. There’s a big need for student who want to get over there and a local need for student that live in Norton that might want to work at the shopping center.” He told the board that the schedule would be presented when it’s finalized, and is looking to implement it late in the summer to be ready for the fall season and the return of the student body. Mansfield Police Arrest Suspects in Best Buy Thefts

Mansfield police arrest two men suspected in taking thousands of dollars in merchandise from the Mansfield Best Buy,

The Mansfield Police Department reported on Wednesday that they have arrested two men in connection with a string of Best Buy shoplifting cases. Police state that the pair have allegedly stolen over $10,000 worth of merchandise. Robert Mason, 43 of Malden and Edward Mason, 38, of Salem, N.H. were arrested on Tuesday around 3 p.m. at the Best Buy in Mansfield Crossing. Security officers from Best Buy chased Robert Mason through a wooded area outside of the store across Route 140. Detective Michael Ellsworth and pfficer John Armstrong apprehended Mason. His brother, Edward, was waiting in the parking lot of the mall in an SUV that had been spotted during previous shoplifting incidents. The pair are suspected of stealing over $10,000 worth of…

New iParty Halloween Store Now Open in Mansfield

iParty, the region’s largest party retailer is opening a temporary store in Mansfield for the 2012 Halloween season. Last year, seven in ten Americans planned to celebrate Halloween (according to the National Retail Federation) and 2012 shows no signs of letting up. Mansfield Crossing Hosts Indoor Ice Skating

With the Mansfield Borders closed in 2011, the leaders at WS Development, owners of Mansfield Crossing, decided they needed to fill the space. But the question was what objectives should they take and how best could they help the community. With the unseasonable warm weather this winter, ice skating has been reserved to the indoor rinks around the area, leaving Mansfield in the cold (or warm, depending on your point of view). "We wanted to use the space and give something unique to the community," director of marketing at WS Development David Fleming said. Mansfield Crossing Hosting Freeskate this March

Freeskate at Mansfield Crossing will be hosting a free skating rink at the former Borders location.

This March, the Mansfield Crossing shopping center will host Freeskate at Mansfield Crossing, a community winter wonderland of free skating, free skate rentals, festive decor, and numerous family-friendly activities and promotions. The former Borders bookstore has been transformed for the event, which opens on Friday, March 2nd. On Saturday, March 3rd Radio 92.9 will host a special kick-off event with a live band, on-site broadcast, and special retail giveaways from Noon-3PM. Freeskate continues every weekend through March 18th, with skating scheduled Fridays from 3PM-8PM, Saturdays from Noon-8PM, and Sundays from Noon-6PM. The Tri Town Chamber is wrapping up a very successful 2011 that saw the chamber grow membership by 20% in a very challenging economy. We are excited to welcome dozens of new members and the infusion of fresh insights and perspectives that they will bring. While 2011 has been great, we have even bigger plans for 2012! Steve; I agree totally. The Tri-Town Chamber represents the small business person evry step of teh way. The organization always tries to put forth seminars, events, etc. that allow members to partake and participate as well as network. That is one reason for their 20% growth this year.
