From the Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce Today the stock market hit 14,000 again. But that was only the second most exciting economy-related event recently. That's because at lunchtime, the Tri-Town Chamber introduced our very talented 2013 leadership team. I am looking forward to my third term as president of the board, particularly when supported by such a strong group and at a time at which member businesses are starting to be positively impacted by the recovery. Executive Director Kara Griffin did a terrific job today summing up Chamber's achievements for 2012 and providing an overview of our plans for the upcoming year. After about four years, the chamber's event has raised over $30,000 for area food pantries, including the Our Daily Bread Pantry in Mansfield.
The Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce annual Oktoberfest to benefit the areas food pantries was a huge success again this year. The chamber is reporting that to date the Tri-Town Chamber has donated roughly $30,000 over the past 5 years to the three food pantries. The Chamber would like to thanks this year’s partners Mansfield Crossing and Covidien for helping to make this happen. This year's Ocktoberfest raised over $4,905 for area food pantries.

Tri Town Oktoberfest returns for 2012!
On Tuesday, Oct. 2, area restaurants gathered at Mansfield Crossing to participate in the Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce Oktoberfest. The following is from the Tri Town Chamber of Commerce. “To date, this event has raised over $24,000 for the food pantries,” explains Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kara Griffin. “We are excited to be able to offer this program again this year with support from our generous sponsors, Covidien and Mansfield Crossing. Consider it Done is a group of Mansfield High School boys that is passionate about music. They play a variety of music including original songs and cover songs, and they will be playing the Tri Town Chamber of Commerce's Oktoberfest celebration. Their style includes alternative rock and adult alternative music with a bit of jangle pop and folk. This eclectic group has performed for the local circuit at places such as Casey O'Connor's, the Elks, the VFW and Mansfield High School. They combine their passion for music with their passion for helping others. Consider It Done performs for many local charities, helping to raise funds for causes they feel strongly about. Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce has announced that two Mansfield youths have been named finalists in the Back to School Buy Local Favorite Summer Memory Contest. They are Jack Moussette and Kara Hart. Other finalists are Victoria Vaphiades, Lily Grace Holloway and Daniel Clapp of Norton and Paulina Baczkowski of Foxborough. “We want to congratulate all of the kids entered the contest,” said Kara Griffin, executive director of the Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce. “They made our decision very difficult because they were all so good!” The winner will be determined by the general public. The Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce was out surprising and delighting customers and business owners early last Saturday afternoon with individually wrapped carnations from Judy’s Flowers in Foxboro. At TDBank in Mansfield Crossing, manager Rich Schank and Tri-Town Chamber social media specialist, Jen Vondenbrink handed out carnations to patrons waiting in line. One gentleman said, “My wife’s in the car. She’ll love the flower. What a surprise!” Other businesses such as Glee Gifts, Hefez & Sons Jewelers, Advantage Appliance in Mansfield, Bridget’s An Irish Tradition in Norton and Your Curtain Store in Foxboro were equally surprised.
