No Closure For Mansfield Resident in Bulger Conviction

Mansfield resident Eileen Davis, speaks about the "no finding" issued for the murder of her sister, Debra.

James "Whitey" Bulger, convicted of 11 murders and other crimes at the federal courtroom in Boston on Monday, but that didn't bring closure for Mansfield resident Eileen Davis, whose younger sister Debra's murder was one of the eight Bulger was not convicted of.

"This trial is a travesty," Davis told the Sun Chronicle. Although she believes Stephen "The Rifleman" Flemmi, who had been dating her sister, was the one who killed her, she thinks Bulger was there and gave the order. She also believes ex-FBI agents John Connolly and John Morris looked the other way, allowing her sister to be murdered.

The jury issues a "no finding" in the case of Debra Davis because of opposing testimonies; Flemmi testified that Bulger was the one that strangled her, while Bulger's defense insisted that Flemmi was the culprit.
